"There are no experts in Metallica collecting just people with different degrees of experience and knowledge of different areas etcetera. Hector's site is the best by far as far as resource goes there is no doubt about that (at least for official items, which is my main interest) and a lot of that is the collection of different peoples additions, inputs etcetera and his own experience. I use his site frequently, participate in the top 100 (because I think it is a good idea in concept, even if I don't agree with all the choices) and I deal with Hector from time to time and he is a good guy to deal with and he helped me with something once when no one else stood up to do it and really went out of his way to get me what I needed (which I still appreciate)

This is certainly not an attack on Hector or his site and I don't want it perceived as such. It is just my belief that the Red logo is fake and really has nothing to do with Hector. Along with the 53rd and 3rd and a few other items that are considered official. My own experience, gut instincts and beliefs tell me the red logo and these others are probably fake. People can choose to believe what they wish, but I think it is dangerous when something is considered official without enough evidence to prove it so, and if TMCC and metcollectors are to be taken seriously as the authorities on Metallica collecting in the present and future, we need to ask more questions and do more research rather than just assuming something is real because of one site or whatever. If people get offended because myself and others feel an item is fake or whatever that is ridiculous. We are all striving for a common goal in knowledge and sometimes people will be proven wrong and it will only benefit collectors now and in the future."
